1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide a better experience for our travelers. This includes:
Account Information: When you log in via Google OAuth, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture.
User Content: We store the photos you upload and the specific metadata (scale, offset, and region IDs) used to generate your map.
Photo Metadata: To power the "Timeline Journey" feature, we process EXIF data (such as date taken and location) from your uploaded photos. This data is used solely for your personal map and is never shared or sold.
Payment Data: If you upgrade or order a print, payment is processed via a secure third-party provider. We do not store credit card details on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to:
- Render and save your personalized travel map.
- Identify you as a "Premium" or "Free" user.
- Process and ship physical print orders via Printful.
- Send account-related notifications (e.g., a 30-day notice before inactive data deletion).
- Deliver newsletters, deals, and partner specials, provided you have explicitly opted-in.
3. Third-Party Sharing & Infrastructure
We use trusted partners to keep PixelPassport running:
Infrastructure: We use Vercel for hosting and Supabase for our database and file storage.
Fulfillment: When you order a print, your name, shipping address, and the generated map image are shared with Printful for production and shipping.
Analytics & Ads: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how users interact with our site.
For Free Tier accounts and public-facing pages, we serve ads via Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies to serve personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in (typically for a 30-day session) and tracking cookies for Google Analytics and AdSense. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.
5. Data Privacy & Map Visibility
Your maps are private by default. No other user can see your map unless you choose to share a downloaded JPG or a public link. We do not sell your travel patterns, location history, or personal images to any third party.
6. Data Deletion & Retention
Account Deletion: If you choose to delete your account, your data enters a 30-day grace period. During this time, the data is queued for removal. Once this period expires, all photos and data are permanently deleted and cannot be retrieved.
Inactivity: Accounts inactive for two years will be notified via email 30 days prior to automatic data deletion.
7. Jurisdiction
This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.
